- AllMusic called it 'half-twinky, half-ominous', tweaking religious imagery. A sustained pad built from the JD-800/Akai S1000 rig washes under "Candyman Messiah", slow attack and long release giving the track its widescreen, orchestral scale. Filter cutoff and resonance are pushed up on the chorus for extra bite.
