A bright FM-ish bell layered under a saw fills the chorus behind the guitars, sustained chords rather than a lead line so it reads as a keys pad. Filter opens gently as the chorus arrives to lift the energy without fighting the guitar. Light reverb keeps it sitting behind the vocal.
