- The track builds from a pulsing, layered pad bed that thickens through each chorus, closer to Antonoff's 1980s-inflected synth-pop instincts than Swift's country roots. The pulses lock tightly to the drum pattern rather than sustaining freely. Reconstructed by ear; no confirmed patch details exist. Instrument choice is approximated from Max Martin/Shellback/Ilya's well documented MXM studio workflow of this era (widely reported in trade-press interviews): built around Access Virus TI and Roland Juno/Jupiter analogue-modelled synths tracked through Cubase, not a documented per-song patch sheet.
