- notes
- a-ha's DX7 ROM 1A 'BASS 1' FM preset gives an instant metallic slap transient with phase-perfect lows down to 40 Hz -- not achievable subtractively, so this patch approximates it with a square-plus-sine oscillator pair through a filter envelope that snaps open instantly and closes fast, with light post drive faking the extra FM harmonic edge. Mono, DI'd around -18 dBFS for headroom on the slap transient.
