On "Gloomy Sunday", Alan Rankine's rig: ARP Odyssey and Roland Jupiter-8 for icy leads and pads, Yamaha CS-80 for the orchestral swells behind Billy Mackenzie's vocal. Here it carries a sustained synth pad that fills out the harmony behind the vocal, slow attack so it swells in rather than jumps. Reconstructed by ear from the record; no official patch sheet survives for this part, so the specific oscillator and filter values are an informed approximation anchored to the album's known gear.
