The hook line of "Cologne" is carried by a bright detuned synth lead that answers the vocal in the chorus, filter opens on the drop into the final chorus. Clean Bandit's early-period rig: Roland Juno-106 for pads and string-machine chorus, a Nord Lead for leads and arps, Trilian for the synth-bass layer, and Grace Chatto's cello sampled and layered under the pads to blur the classical/electronic line.
