On "Time" the pad part is a slow, sustained line that lets the ballad breathe. Robert and Peter Ponger's credited 'digital & analog keyterminals' rig of this period centred on the Roland D-50 and Korg M1 for stabs and pads, with Akai S900 sampled breaks and a TB-303-style bass.
