On "I Sing Ration", Numan's period rig had expanded beyond the Polymoog of the Tubeway Army days to a PPG Wave 2.2 and Yamaha CS-80 for leads and pads, Minimoog for bass. Here it carries the lead synth line, single-note and vibrato-tinged to sit like a voice in the mix. Reconstructed by ear from the record; no official patch sheet survives for this part, so the specific oscillator and filter values are an informed approximation anchored to the album's known gear.
