notes: The DX7's characteristic bell-FM patch sustained under the vocal, never resolving, mirroring the song's unresolved, aching lyric. Amp envelope has a slow attack so the pad blooms in rather than stabs, and a long release lets chords bleed into each other under the heavy plate reverb.
