On "Canton", Richard Barbieri's rig: Roland Jupiter-4, Yamaha CS-80 and a Prophet-5 for oriental-flavoured textures, Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 for basslines, treated with heavy portamento. Here it carries a sustained synth pad that fills out the harmony behind the vocal, slow attack so it swells in rather than jumps. Reconstructed by ear from the record; no official patch sheet survives for this part, so the specific oscillator and filter values are an informed approximation anchored to the album's known gear.
