On "Hate", Simon Brenner's rig: Roland Jupiter-8 and Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 for pads and bass, playing alongside Mark Hollis's vocal and Lee Harris's live drums. Here it carries a sustained synth pad that fills out the harmony behind the vocal, slow attack so it swells in rather than jumps. Reconstructed by ear from the record; no official patch sheet survives for this part, so the specific oscillator and filter values are an informed approximation anchored to the album's known gear.
